What is Form and Flea? In short, it’s a community based around things- a place of inspiration and a place of knowledge. This all started from a simple need of, if it already existed I would be a member. There are a few networks and tools that do similar things (and I use those tools too), but this will be a concentrated place for like-minded people.
Why? Simple put, we love things. I already share, sell, and connect on other social platforms, but it’s alongside the noise of the other subjects. I also don’t like flooding 80% of friends with non-relevant; and at the same time, when I’m looking for ‘things’ content, I want it 100% of my experience.
We aren’t here to get rich, take on Facebook, or take over the world. We’re here to inspire and get inspired. We just want to create a community around things.
There are a ton of new well designed products (I like those too) but the old stuff, the limited, that’s what this is mainly about. Maybe its scarcity, maybe its nostalgia, but I’m focused and appreciate how it ties back to form. One doesn’t need a use—function is fantastic, but form is enough.
